When Donald Trump hosted Kazakhstan’s President on Tuesday at White House, many eyebrows were set. Trump also worked with prominent Kazakhstani men, such as Tevfik arif in his own estate business. This was strongly condemned by his critics, too.

Donald Trump, however, was not without good reasons to see Kazakhstan as an important partner. The time and the conflict between Ukraine and Russia have proven him wrong.

He also met with Kassym Jomart Tukayev who is the Kazakhstani President, at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Trump’s South Asia strategy was also influenced by the Pakistani break. The US therefore needed Kazakhstan to provide an alternative shipping route to Afghanistan.

Tevfik Ariff, founder of Bayrock Group, collaborated with the Trump Organization in the construction of the well-known Trump SoHo Building. Trump SoHo is Bayrock Group’s principal New York City real estate development project.

Tevfik Alif Tevfik Alif, a Turkish Kazakhstani businessman, was conceived in Soviet Kazakhstan in 1953 to Turkish parents. He was the vice-head of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade’s Hotel Management Department. After 17 years in the ministry Tevfik Arif began real properties, estate imports and exports, natural resources, mineral exploration, autos, food companies, and other ventures. Tevfik Arif, who pioneered all-inclusive hotels, relocated to Turkey in 1993. Bayrock Group in New York City was his first venture.

These structures were severely affected by the 2008 real estate crisis. Bayrock Group invested approximately $2.5 billion in US real property holdings. But, it hasn’t created any new projects over the past few years.

Tevfik, after Trump SoHo’s success and the shifting US market, has returned home to Europe and Central Asia. This is the point where his career spans decades. Tevfik Arif continues to be an advisor to Bayrock Group after retiring from many of the responsibilities he had to fulfill.

Kazakhstan can play a crucial part in the Ukraine/Russia conflict. The United States has made Kazakhstan an important strategic partner.
